Computational linguistics? Never heard of it?!

Computational linguistics, as a fascinating field of artificial intelligence, encompasses various key aspects that explore the interaction between computers and human language. This includes the digital conversion of text to speech. Click here to experience text-to-speech first-hand and hear the introduction read aloud by the desired person.

In the era of digital progress, subtopics such as machine learning play a central role. This is about how machines gain the ability to understand (machine speech tagging) and reproduce human language. In parallel, natural language processing (NLP) is shedding light on the development of applications that can interpret and generate natural language.

However, computational linguistics is not without its challenges, such as bias in computer-generated texts. This topic highlights the potential bias in language models that can result from unevenly distributed data. Another important aspect is the exploration of large-scale language models (LLM), which include complex models such as ChatGPT and have far-reaching implications for the future of computer processing of language.

This introduction serves as a springboard for a deeper exploration of the many facets of computational linguistics.

You're now ready to move on to the lessons in this module... Enjoy!
